No, a device that relies on cellular connectivity is ineffective without a signal.

Are there any ongoing costs?
No, once you purchase it, you own it.
Youll need to provide your own SIM card with credit in order for the device to operate
US Customers have 12 Month SIM card subscription included in purchase price. After 12 months US customers can renew the SIM card subscription (USD$192 per year) or use their own compatible SIM cards.
What SIM cards can I use?
The device works best with brand new, out of the box SIM cards- Nano size. You will need Voice, SMS & Data on the account.

USING ALTERNATE SIM CARDS
Network carriers main band; SIM cards must be compatible with at least one main frequency band to work.
SIM cards work on multiple frequencies, the more bands and frequencies your SIM card has in common with the devices listed frequencies, the better. It means your lone worker device will be able to pick up either the carriers VoLTE or 4G LTE more readily, in more places.
You want to especially make sure your device works on the carriers primary bands, as they represent the majority of the network signal they put out. Check with your local carrier to find out their main frequency band in your area.

My cellular carrier says the device needs a DATA only SIM?
Some carriers may state that based off the IMEI, the devices are data only.
This is incorrect as the device technology has evolved faster than their systems can update.
The devices require a SIM card that has data, SMS & Voice
How do I program the lone worker device?
To program the device, change settings and turn features on and off, simply by sending a coded SMS(text) messages to the device using your own cell phone.
Can I change the nominated contacts?
Yes. Your nominated contacts be can easily changed by texting the lone worker device with a new contact number
Can the lone worker device call 911?
Yes. You can set 911 as one of the nominated contacts if you wish to set the outgoing call function.
NOTE: Not all 911 call centres will not receive the SMS help me message or GPS location on Google Maps.
What countries do the devices work in?
We supply lone worker alarm devices world wide with country specific versions that will work in USA, Canada, South America, UK, Europe, Africa, Asia, Australia & New Zealand. Get in touch to find out more.
Is the Lone Worker Device waterproof?
You can wear it in the shower or rain, but not fully immersed
Do you deliver worldwide?
Yes, we can deliver devices worldwide. Purchaser is responsible for any potential customs, taxes or tariffs into the country of delivery
How do I GPS locate the device?
Send a simple SMS (text) message to the device and you will receive a return SMS with the devices location with link to google maps
Can I call the device?
Anyone can call the cell phone number of the device and chat to the user with in-built speaker and microphone. The lone worker device will answer automatically.
How does the fall detection work?
To activate fall detection / Man down automatically, it requires:
– 1 meter or more sudden drop in altitude
– Angle change like falling backward or forwards
– 1n impact that could cause injury or incapacitation
If the above parameters are met or exceeded, the device starts its emergency sequence.
When the device detects a serious fall, the device will announce “Fall has been detected. Click the SOS button to cancel the fall alert sequence”. If the button is not pressed within 20 seconds the device will send the auto SMS fall down alert messages to the nominated contacts ( can also engage auto outgoing calls to each emergency contact one after the other. Fall detection technology is not perfect and false alarms can take place.
How long does the battery last?
48 72 hours on a single charge. It depends on user settings
It takes approximately 3 hours to charge (magnetic charge supplied)
